EVOCATION: An Interactive Exhibition
The Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis (RAC) presents Evocation, an interactive exhibition to remember, imagine and inspire a better St. Louis.
Featuring a host of local artists, the exhibition is a component of RAC’s cultural planning initiative, EVOKE, and invites the community to engage in dialogue about the value of creativity in their lives and its relevance to issues that make St. Louis a better place to live.
Evocation is meant to extend the work of the greater initiative to all of RAC’s gallery and building visitors by creating an interactive space in which they can reflect on and respond to questions about arts/culture and the needs of the St. Louis community in a creative way. In addition, RAC will host creative dialogues each week from October 6th through the end of the exhibition. See the schedule of events for dates and times.
The exhibition is open now through Thursday, November 2nd and features: Dr. Amber Johnson, Erin McGrath Rieke, S. Jewell S. McGhee, and Select Maps from the St. Louis Map Room.
In conjunction with its current exhibition, Evocation, the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis (RAC) presents Evocation Evenings, creative dialogues facilitated by local artists. These sessions are designed to spark conversations about arts/culture and the needs of the St. Louis community through participation in a creative exercise. Sessions will take place on Fridays in October (6, 13, 20, and 27) and on Thursday, November 2. The styles of facilitation will run the spectrum from discussing visual art, to constructing movement, to sharing food.
All events are free and open to the public, so stay tuned for more information about each Evocation Evening. We hope you’ll join one of these conversations and connect with your neighbors to work together to envision a better St. Louis.
