EVOKE: An Exploration of Creativity and Community

What if art could help solve St. Louis’ deepest community problems? What if creativity could be an agent for positive change? These are the questions we’re asking through EVOKE.

EVOKE is a cultural planning process sponsored by the Regional Arts Commission (RAC) to engage, inspire and explore how the arts can help make St. Louis a more vibrant and equitable place to live.

Throughout the rest of 2017, we’ll talk to thousands of St. Louis residents about how the arts can become more meaningful to our lives and to issues that affect us.

We want to hand the microphone to St. Louis individuals, groups and communities who don’t usually talk about art — giving voice to the ideas and opinions of anyone and everyone who is willing to join the conversation.

From what we learn, we’ll develop a plan which we believe will transform the way RAC works today and explore ways for strengthening the St. Louis region through arts and culture.

EVOKE is St. Louis’ first ever cultural planning initiative — and it’s all powered by you, our community. Explore with us!
